Winter Wonderland

“Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and

warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk

beside the fire: it is the time for home.”
― Edith Sitwell

Its all gone or 99% of it - the  new collection from Studio 75 Winter Morning and  I loved every piece of it!  So easy and pretty to create with . An altered box to hold  some  holiday candy . The  little houses are from my stash and I had them forever  -  but there are some great templates on Pintrest to create your own little box village.  Covered with paper and   micro  glitter gives it a cold and warmth vintage feel.  Not many  flowers,  just  enough and the  Winter Wonderland laser cut is from Creative Embellishments.

Directions to Christmas

It's always good for us to pause
And think awhile of Santa Claus--
That jolly symbol we revere
When we approach the changing year.
Behind his beard so long and white,
In which our children take delight,
There beats a heart from color free
Which bids all children "come to me."
MARSHALL M. MORGAN, "The Spirit of Santa Claus"

when I saw the  new Studio 75 Collection- Winter Morning  it was  a must  in my world! The  soft pastels of Christmas filled the pages with  greens, blues and grays  - this collection is a  Christmas wish coming true! I know I will be making cards from the  pieces I have  left  but  mojo  brought me  to an altered project and a  Christmas birdhouse to create. The Birdhouse is a template from the Silhouette store, and the stand - simply a box and rolled paper.

The bird is a handmade resin along with the bird nest below painted with 13@rts paint Cobalt Blue (I think that has become my favorite 13@rts color.) Flowers from our etsy store and the  use of  diecuts from my stash to create the holly swirls.

Its a Girly Thing !

My mom taught me, you never go to someone's home empty handed- and I  always  bring  a  bottle or two of wine, a candle maybe, homemade  cookies but never empty handed .. and these hostess gifts always need a tag  - and what a  fun  little creation inspired by Tammy's challenge this month Lace it Up -
Using Studio 75 Sweet Home Collection ( love the pastel palette), stickles  and  Flying Unicorn flowers my  corset tag .
