Enjoying a little creative time and to create a  tag - a  Camille tag, one of the new Julie Nutting dolls from Prima Marketing. 

Winter is almost behind us, and I felt spring-y  -so, with the use of the Lemoncraft Easter Greeting Collection, Petaloo Flowers and Stickers from 13@rts  Secret Letter Collection a  tag to adorn to a gift  bag filled with  goodies and to send  off to a dear friend, 

Using cardboard in between the layers giving dimension and flair to the  doll creation.

Its Vine Time ( even at 7:00am ) - Playdate Thursday

Happy Play Date Thursday!!  This is the  one day of the week where the creative team and I share a wonderful tip, technique or something creative with you all - and   it my turn this week !! 

We all love  vines they are easy to work with and they add that extra WOW to your project. I am here to give you a little tutorial on making your own . Now you can stop  before adding flowers and simply have your own leaf vine or  you can  add some of those flowers you are  hoarding in your stash -    or you can both - so lets begin. 

Chalk Ink 

MFT - Die-namics Royal Leaves

To make the  leaves, I used the Royal Leaves Die-namics die by My Favorite things.  and to edge the leaves was chalk ink by Ingvlid Bolme for Prima Marketing. 

Playing  with floral tape can be a bit tricky, so do not get frustrated  - just  keep rubbing the wire back and forth with your fingers which releases the  "gum glue" from the  tape  making it  sticky.  You can also add flowers here and there to hide any perfections in the  beginning and  once mastered you  have your  own  unique vine !

It is for your inspiration and this theme word DOES NOT need to be part of your title or journalling. But please make sure your layout is based on the sketch below and includes journalling (hidden journalling is fine). Acceptable journalling is MORE than just a sentence, or generic writing such as date/place etc. It needs to be present and at least 3 lines long. Remember, hidden journalling (under a photo/tag or behind your page) is perfectly fine but please DO let us know in your post where your journalling is!

Our Guest Designer - Aida and So Much More .....

I know- the excitement is unbearable that we have the Owner and Founder of 13@rts as our Guest Designer for February! Aida inspires us all to find our creative edge and to know her is to truly adore her - a beautiful person  not only on the outside but inside as well!  She teaches, she shares;  her creativeness is outstanding and her energy is contagious! I hope you all head on over to her blog: 13pasji.blogspot.com to not only follow her, but to leave her some love- She will be your next  best  friend - that is the kind of person she is !  Without further adieu I present Our Guest Designer Aida to tell us a bit about herself in her own words: 

My name is Aida Domisiewicz, but I also use nickname Ayeeda and all my work you can find here: http://13pasji.blogspot.com/. I live in beautiful city if Wroclaw, Poland with my hubby and two fantastic sons.
 I think I've always had an artistic soul - I used to paint ceramics, create my own pots and bowls with a clay, I made home and office decorations. Over three years ago I discovered scrapbooking and mixed media – and it was love at first sight:)  I create mostly layouts and 12x12 is my favorite size. Sometimes I make something different though - tags, cards or altered items. I’m not sure I can define my “style”, but my works are recognizable as a bit messy with lots of textures, layers and details. I just love to feel my page under my fingers. I don’t want to close myself in just one style though, as I love to experiment and search for original effects. For me each page is a separate, complete story to tell, so my projects differ with colors, techniques and … emotions. The perfect layout for me is the one that makes people actually FEEL the emotions I try to put into my page.
 I just love to create, and I am lucky that my passion has also become my full time job. One and a half year ago I started to design papers under my own brand '13 arts', I am also a manufacturer of artistic mediums and other scrapbooking supplies. This is a dream come true. Thank you so much Alda for inviting me – it is an honor and a great pleasure to be a guest at Flying Unicorn store. The February kit is absolutely amazing, so inspiring and the possibilities of creating are endless.

Round Robin Time

Another fun filled Round Robin

coming to the Flying Unicorn in October!!!

Sign Ups  are  now  open!!

In case you don’t know what a Round Robin is, we will split into teams of 4 people each team and the team leader, who will be a Creative Team member this time, will create a layout and post it in the forums on October 8th. The 2^nd person on the team then has a week to lift the layout and then post their lift on Oct. 15^th. The 3^rd team member lifts the 2^nd team member and posts on Oct 22, and the 5^th person posts on Oct 29^th.We have had so much fun with Round Robins in the past and I am sure this one will be even more fun! All you have to do is go to the Round Robin sign up thread and tell me you want to play and I’ll put you on a team! The more the merrier, we’ve had 7 teams in our past two RR’s, let’s have 8 teams this time, or even more!!
