Julie Nutting & Paris Flea Market

“One is loved because one is loved.

No reason is needed for loving.”
― Paulo CoelhoThe Alchemist

Oh what fun I had playing with paper dolls...and  Pion Paper - Paris Flea Market ( and its on sale!!)
I used the  6x6 sheets and was able to create two tags... almost the  same  but  still different ...

I  am often asked what I do with my  tags  ...  and tags are  great  for  adorning to gift  bags  - they  can  be  the  card and r write on the  back ...  sometimes I attach a second  tag  to the  first  using a brad in the  tag  hole and  tag/card  is  born ... Place the  tag  on top of the  present  .... it  does not need to  be an  envelope  .. and  with  complimentary wrapping paper colors  of your  tag  the  receiver  will love the  presentation ...

So make a  batch of cookies and  attach a  handmade  tag to them ... you  give them away with love.

Your Passion Your Art. July Kit of the month Cards

“Don't think. Thinking is the enemy of creativity. It's self-

conscious and anything self-conscious is lousy. You can't

"try" to do things. You simply "must" do things.”
― Ray Bradbury

In the  July kit we  included a 6x6 paper pack of the Prima Paper Vintage Emporium.   Now, I am not  sure how  most card makers  choose their paper .... I myself  will make  cards from 12x12 sheets, A4, 8x8, 6x6 .. there is  no standard   for me  .... and  the  6x6 paper  pack  in the kit was  perfect for my creativity this month ...

With a little layering and the flowers from 49 & market ( love those)  two simple  cards were made ....   Nothing  fancy ...  just  simple  sweet cards  in order to send out  as happy mail ...
The  July kit sold out .... sorry  but  the  20th is around the corner and  you will not want to miss the  August  kit!!

Happy Birthday & Sherri Baldy

“With mirth and laughter let old wrinkles come.”
― William ShakespeareThe Merchant of Venice

One can never have too many birthday cards on hand.  There is finally a need in me to create again, and I have been loving it.  Going home from the store, a quick dinner and  off to my  craft room I go ... Sometimes the time escapes  me and  before I know it its 3:30am ... thank goodness the store only opens at  10:00am and I have a 5-7 minute commute!

Finally got to  play with my copics and Sherri Baldy digi stamps  that  I purchased a little  while ago ... and  with the papers Floral Muse by Docraft that were in the June  kit ( sorry sold out)... a  soft shabby Birthday card was created ...

My style is  shabby and soft, no one can dispute that and  even on the  coloring with the  copics  I stay with the  light  shades ...
A  little bit of paper layering and  using  some  ovals and  frames... and  a little flower clustering  ...  done  ...
The  berries, are  from Petaloo - Spring Sale .. and  painted them gold to match the card

Julie Nutting - Camille Paper Doll fun!

“When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares.”

Enjoying a little creative time and to create a  tag - a  Camille tag, one of the new Julie Nutting dolls from Prima Marketing.

Winter is almost behind us, and I felt spring-y  -so, with the use of the Lemoncraft Easter Greeting Collection, Petaloo Flowers and Stickers from 13@rts  Secret Letter Collection a  tag to adorn to a gift  bag filled with  goodies and to send  off to a dear friend,

Using cardboard in between the layers giving dimension and flair to the  doll creation.

A time bandit with My Besties

“And she felt as though she had been there,

on that bench, for an eternity.

For an infinity of passion can be contained

in one minute, like a crowd in a small space.”
― Gustave Flaubert, Madame Bovary

A time bandit ... that is what I felt like creating this tag ... boxes still to be unpacked, drawers to still be organized and where can you find me for a brief moment in time- creating! The need, the passion finally overtook me, so create I must. Create I did.

When I saw that Sherri Baldy was coming out with a  paper line, ohh my heart  skipped a beat maybe three with  pure joy and excitement.  You all must know by now  how much I love her  digital stamps,  but the  paper - ohh yeah Flying Unicorn needed, not  wanted to carry those.

The image and the paper were all included in the Vintage Bestie Heart Collection 104-8. The  flowers, my  summer love  Prima Esperanza Sarita 581909 - the  butterfly is saved  for another project but  I did mix in the butterflies from Petaloo - Mini Butterflies 1486-106. The  Prima Bethany flowers -538576 have been cut and  are  tucked in here there and  a little  everywhere -those are my  so go to flowers .. versatile and yummy... the pearl  bling it was in my  left over lace and  ribbon stash ....it matched  perfectly

Off to do what I am suppose to do for now... play time tomorrow again shhh...

Trash to Treasure

"Art is making something out of nothing"
frank zappa

The child bought new headset that came in a little pull box - and as he was throwing out the  box - I had to stop him .. it was too cute and too perfect  - that it needed to be altered.  It is 4"x4" and a  perfect  size to hold some of the handmade resin pieces I  have  made and  need to gift .

The frame is a handmade resin piece - painted using 13@rts paints

I used  Pion Paper - A Day in May Collection for the base with black paint from 13@rts and on top the antique gold rub n buff to color the edges and corners . Using the Prima Ingvlid Bolme distress tool I removed some of the gold  to to give it that  used shabby, vintage look.

Lots of  diecuts from my stash and  handmade flowers that the edges were inked with Ingvlid's Bolme Chalk Inks- Pastel Brown. These inks regardless of the  color are  my most favorite  of any inks out there.   If you have some, put them  near your desk and use them ..  you too will fall in love .. If you do not - they are  inexpensive - last  for a really long time and are  truly perfect for masks, distressing, stamping etc.

I also used  the ballerina dress from the  High Tea collection of the Flying Unicorn Adornments and used the  13@rts gold pearl paint and  heat set it ... using heat directly on it causes little bubbles and when cool to the  touch I press it  down adding a vintage distress look.

A fairy Moment

and above all
watch with glittering eyes
the whole world
around you
Because the greatest secrets
are always hidden in the most unlikely places.
Those who do not believe
in magic will never find it.
-Roald Dahl

On the  forums we host a mid month challenge of cards/tags and this month I am your hostess. This month it is about fairy dust and everything magical  So come join us this month, get  inspired by the mood board and lets create something magical!

I used  sheets of the Crea Diem Collection by Maja Design. What I usually do to begin a card is take 3 to 4 sheets of 12x12 and cut them into 6x6 squares. Even if the base of my card is 5.5" x 5.5" I have that extra 1/2" to punch nip and tuck somewhere in the card  - I never throw out the scraps ..

Lots of Flying Unicorn flowers, that are available in our etsy store and altered flying unicorn adornments. The adornments were painted with 13@rts paints - no gesso required. One coat of the paint covers metal perfectly!  The glitter paints are perfect to add a little shimmer and shine! The image is a digital image is from Sylvia Zet- Sweet Sparkle
