Christmas Cards

Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmas-time.

Its Christmas card time! Christmas  boxes are  down,  glitter is  out, snow in a bottle sits on the desk and poinsettia dies.  This year  I  have been determined to use my stash  of  papers and  Christmas  embellishments  ..

A  few  layers of  paper, lots of  glitter, some bling, bunches of poinsettias and one  card down (okay  I usually  make  two at a time - so two cards done)

Winter Wishes, Snowflake Kisses

Hard at work like a little elf, getting my  Christmas cards done ...
The  digi stamp from Shari Baldy are  just too cute and can  be  bought from her etsy store.  The papers are the new Magnolia Collection- Winter Wonderland which are  a  beautiful deep vintage  elegant tones and so easy to work with.  The  poinsettia are hand made and  I  use the  Cheery Lynn  design Poinsettia die cut - they were a perfect size for this card.
The holly and the  laser cuts are  from Creative Embellishments - just  love love them .

Cheers

 For Christmas Day;
Twine mistletoe and holly.
For a friendship glows
In winter snows,
And so let’s all be jolly!

This month on the forums  I am  of course running a Christmas challenge - non  traditional  meaning  no red or  green  but you can use   every other  color in between! My inspirational  piece  I went  Grey using  Maja  Design  6x6  paper pack Vintage  frost  with a  digi stamp  from  Sherri Baldy  (  love them so dang  cute)

The snowflakes are  from  diecuts collected over the  years and  punches as well ...  I can not  say no  to  snowflake  anything.  The  holly die  is  from Die versions as well as the  word  Cheer. and the  larges silver  hollies are  laser cuts by  Creative Embellishments . The  sleigh is a metal adornment  gifted to me and the  bells  are  fromthe new  Anita  embellishments that we  now  carry .  Covered wih silver  stickles this was a  fun card to make  ... and  look at that not  pink ...

Play Date Thursday - An Open Book

 Christmas is not an
eternal event at all,
but a piece of one's home
 that one carries
in one's heart. -  Freya Stark

Its Playdate Thursday - so lets play!!

There are times when a simple square or rectangle card just gets boring and  we need to spice up our mojo  - so lets get going!

I have created this "open book" card that can act as the actual card (since I embellish way to much to close it) or if you are the clean and simple type when you have  the  base done you will see that you can  decorate the  outside of the "book card" and the inside will be that like a story book.

The template is below - just click on it and save it to your computer or you can head over to the  file tab in the forums and  download it in  pdf format . If you have any questions send me a note !  Happy creating !

G The die cut images are  from the new Pion Collection Days of Winter. everything is edged with Ingvlid's Bolme Chalk Inks - love them way too much ...adding that  vntage feel  to the card book.

Christmas

Christmas brings family and friends together.

It helps us appreciate the love in our lives we often take for

granted. May the true meaning of the holiday season fill

your heart and home with many blessings.

I love love the new Wild Rose Studio Panels and matching papers .. so easy  to become a master card maker ...With some of the images already colored, and the  coordinating  6x6 paper packs  there is no way you can go wrong .

With the  Cherry Lynn Poinsettia Die Cut and the Cottage Cutz Pine branch this   had to be the  fastest  card I ever  made and  oh  so cute !.  I used  Ranger Alcohol Ink Cranberry in order to color the  pearl beads and the  Anita little blings as the  centers for the  poinsettia. Red Stickles was  added as the berries on the  branch .

Christmas Past

“When we recall Christmas past, we usually find that the

simplest things - not the great occasions - give off the

greatest glow of happiness.”

― Bob Hope

One of the child's teachers loves the Victorian Era and the  New Pion Paper - Days of Winter is  a perfect  collection  to capture Christmas past.  Handmade roses, dusted in diamond dust along with a  few poinsettias and a little  strand of pearls just adds to the  old fashion feel .
