Trash to Treasure with Flying Unicorn using Craft Consortium Paper Collection and Petaloo

"For where thy treasure is, there also will thy heart be."

-anonymous

This was a fun challenge and I love to turn trash into treasure!  Dawid's challenge on the Flying Unicorn Forums gave me the inspiration and fun I needed.

There is a step by step tutorial by Dawid- just click here

From these ohh lets just throw out the empty roll to something pretty and this time PINK !

I used the new paper collection from Craft Consortium The Gypsy Gypsy Collection - oh my, oh my its gorgeous!!! The top is garden of blossom of the pretty in pink flowers from Petaloo.

A little bit more of this and that from beads to glass bobbles and the  treasure laser cut from 2crafty -and the  butterfly in flight from Petaloo finished this  little project off perfectly .Time to go add some goodies inside and  send it  off as a RAK !

Playdate Thursday and Mini Album Binding

I've been looking so long at these pictures of you

That I almost believe that they're real

I've been living so long with my pictures of you

That I almost believe that the pictures are

All I can feel

-The Cure

Hello and welcome to Playdate Thursday!  This is the one day of the week where the creative team shares a tutorial so that you learn and grow in our love of paper crafting,

Today, its my turn, and I am sharing a new, maybe an easier way to bind your mini album.

The creating of a mini album is a wonderful way to store  pictures from an occasion, a moment in time, a gift given with love. The  process of making a mini album should be soothing to the soul and not rushed. They are time  consuming, but a great project to work on when you can  steal a minute here and there to scrap, and  a perfect summer project.

So  lets begin the building process :

***if you want a complete closure for the book on each end of the 6x6 add a cut chipboard piece of 1.25" leaving a 1/8" gap **

Come join me and the rest of the Creative Team and build your mini album and showcase it in our Card /Tag okay Mini Album Challenge this  month !!

MMU - Hip to be Square

Hip to be Square

Its MMU  time- Mid Month University where we create an  off the page project using paper and our imagination ...and this month  its a paper square cube  box  which can display and rotate six different pictures/ quotes etc  ...

Yes, we can go to  our local craft store and buy the wooden cubes  - and make this  . or  you can  easily in 7 steps make your own :

I used the square cube box technique to create the ABC letter boxes .. Those are only 2" x 2"   - so I only had to cut to strip and score at 2"  and have five 2" score sections since the fifth one needs to overlap  the forth square to form an open square.

Embellished samples of Unicorns and favorite quotes:

Or keeping it simple .....

So who is hip to be square?

*You can enter  three projects for this challenge
* Your project must be loaded  before March 14th 8:00pm standard time in order to have  chance to win the special random RAK prize .

All other challenge rules apply.

Cheers

 For Christmas Day;
Twine mistletoe and holly.
For a friendship glows
In winter snows,
And so let’s all be jolly!

This month on the forums  I am  of course running a Christmas challenge - non  traditional  meaning  no red or  green  but you can use   every other  color in between! My inspirational  piece  I went  Grey using  Maja  Design  6x6  paper pack Vintage  frost  with a  digi stamp  from  Sherri Baldy  (  love them so dang  cute)

The snowflakes are  from  diecuts collected over the  years and  punches as well ...  I can not  say no  to  snowflake  anything.  The  holly die  is  from Die versions as well as the  word  Cheer. and the  larges silver  hollies are  laser cuts by  Creative Embellishments . The  sleigh is a metal adornment  gifted to me and the  bells  are  fromthe new  Anita  embellishments that we  now  carry .  Covered wih silver  stickles this was a  fun card to make  ... and  look at that not  pink ...

Tis Near Halloween

Jax is hosting a challenge this month which requires you to use three different paper lines on your project - ohh this was hard for me since I find my  style  has been really monochromatic and using the same line with shades of .. and  this  took me almost one week to create but  Halloween was the  best answer for this .

From Echo Park, G45 and Authentique I  mixed and match the Halloween lines and turned Tasha into a Witch .

Love the  Halloween  laser cuts from Creative Embellishments for Halloween  - the  spider web, the tree and the  owl are form one  full set .
