Dream Big - Timeless Memories Collection and Julie Nutting

I love the Julie Nutting Dolls -  I find them so versatile, not to say that it brings me back to my child hood when life was simple and playing with barbies was the only task of the day!

The timeless Memories collection from Prima  has  stunning vintage brown tones with subtle designs. It is perfect for the mixed media artists out there -  but it a wonderful collection for us card and tag makers too. You can pair it with  brown, burgundy, green, deep rich colors to bring out the  beauty of the collection.

I am in love with the new dolls from Julie Nutting.  On this tag  I used Jeanne - love the old world look to her..

The burgundy flowers are from Manor House Creations and the leaves are from the we can not  have  enough of those Prima vines!

Christmas Time

“Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of

kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in

spirit, become a child again at Christmas-time.”
― Laura Ingalls Wilder

This was a   fun creative  project .  I removed the glass - that was a  little  to figure out - but a set of pliers the screws inside unscrewed easily and I took away the metal holders of the  glass too .

The outside  I used 13@rts gesso, 13@rts micro beads and Stampendous Chunky White Embossing Powder . The Christmas tress and the holly are the  beautiful  laser cuts by Creative Embesslishments   which can be found in the store too .

I used  lots of  items from my stash including  flowers from Prima/ Petaloo and  Flying Unicorn.

A Perfect Day

The Sea, once it casts its spell,
holds one in its net of wonder
 forever

I needed a card for  one of my sisters to send with  a box of  goodies the cottage and then  it dawned on me  to create a little life is perfect scene. With an adirondack chair  as the focal point  - I  just kept adding to it  .... the book was the  hard thing since I really wanted it to open easily and  put the  message in there  - but that was not working to plan   - so the "just for you " ribbon used as a bookmark  so when pulled a folded sheet of  paper come out which is the perfect spot to  right the  sentiment.

The Flying Unicorn adornment sun hat - painted with 13@rts paints and the sail wheel was heat embossed with gold

I painted the vase with 13@rts paint - salmon/peach and white never letting  any of the  layers  truly try and in between  used a paper towel and dabbed it for the  texture/distress effect.

HELLO

the road to a friend's house is never long
reaching out with a Hi to say
no matter how far we are
you're always close to my heart

Shona is hosting a mood board challenge this month on the  forums and I had to play along

Part of the  challenge is to use packaging - yes  to  recycle and I  did with the tags - but  I forgot to take them out when  I was gluing the flowers - now they are glued in .... oh well no  hidden tags  for this card!

The second part of the challenge was to state three pictures that  inspired your creation
01. The color purple - its not a color I use often  but its a pretty  color to play with
02. the  bouquet of  flowers ... I added lots of  little  clusters on this  card
03. the present and the  bow - hence the  seam binding

but wait there is  more ...

04. I was  inspired by the  gentleman's boutonniere and the small flowers that  I added some to my clusters all around
and
05. the dangling  earrings .. well I dangled a heart !

Yup I was  inspired by the mood board!

This card was created using the new Wild Rose 6x6 Paper Collections and the  Printed Colored  Panels . Those I  love.  The panels are great when you do not feel like  coloring and yet when you do, there are  printed stamps for  you to play with and  choose your own color palette ...
