Just a pretty little box

"Keep love in your heart.
A life without it is like
a sunless garden when the flowers are dead."
Oscar Wilde

I enjoy making boxes and  putting  little  RAK  items in them and  sending them off fro Happy  Mail and this is a great way to  use up  the  stash which makes me  happy too :)

Most the products used are  from my stash,  but the  flowers are  new and available on our etsy store.  and the Flying Unicorn Adornments.

Adding Cheesecloth softens everything up and little trinkets between the  flower clusters adds dimension and  interest.

Off to make a matching tag or card !

October 31

 “Tis the night—the night

Of the grave's delight,

And the warlocks are at their play;

Ye think that without,

The wild winds shout,

But no, it is they—it is they!”

Yes, October 31 - its truly about the candy - the chocolate more importantly !
Using Echo Park Halloween paper and the  new  Julie Nutting doll stamp   I created a candy box  to be filled with yummies.

Lots of  black and  purple  stickles, and carboard cut and inked with  prima chalk ink pastel yellow to create the look of pages inside the  book ...

Black 13@rts paint to change the  color of the mini roses,  and  from the  flowers the stems were twined around a toothpick to make the  twirly vines on the  pumpkins.

Trash to Treasure

"Art is making something out of nothing"

The child bought new headset that came in a little pull box - and as he was throwing out the  box - I had to stop him .. it was too cute and too perfect  - that it needed to be altered.  It is 4"x4" and a  perfect  size to hold some of the handmade resin pieces I  have  made and  need to gift .

The frame is a handmade resin piece - painted using 13@rts paints

I used  Pion Paper - A Day in May Collection for the base with black paint from 13@rts and on top the antique gold rub n buff to color the edges and corners . Using the Prima Ingvlid Bolme distress tool I removed some of the gold  to to give it that  used shabby, vintage look.

Lots of  diecuts from my stash and  handmade flowers that the edges were inked with Ingvlid's Bolme Chalk Inks- Pastel Brown. These inks regardless of the  color are  my most favorite  of any inks out there.   If you have some, put them  near your desk and use them ..  you too will fall in love .. If you do not - they are  inexpensive - last  for a really long time and are  truly perfect for masks, distressing, stamping etc.

I also used  the ballerina dress from the  High Tea collection of the Flying Unicorn Adornments and used the  13@rts gold pearl paint and  heat set it ... using heat directly on it causes little bubbles and when cool to the  touch I press it  down adding a vintage distress look.
